In 1922 industrialist Frederick A. Ingalls recognized the need for a place of healing in Harvey, IL and made the lead gift to open a memorial hospital in honor of his wife, Jeanette.
Today, the Ingalls Development Foundation continues to benefit from the two trusts Mr. Ingalls established in memory of his second wife Margaret and daughter Jean Havens. To this day the Margaret Ingalls Memorial Fund and Jean Havens Memorial Fund continue to make distributions in support of Ingalls Memorial Hospital.
That legacy of giving continues thanks to our generous givers whose support provides access in the South Suburbs to world class care in the areas of oncology, cardiology, retina and orthopedics. Ways to Give
The need for philanthropic support has never been greater or more vital to build upon the clinical excellence of our non-profit community hospital. Continued transformation of the healthcare industry has established a new normal business environment characterized by lower patient admissions, declining reimbursement rates and decreasing government support.
Additional pressure on hospitals to absorb the financial risks associated with managing health outcomes for patient populations presents unique challenges and opportunities for donor support to fund innovative care models and community partnerships.
Consequently, we are pleased to present these gift options for your consideration and welcome the opportunity to have a conversation about a gifting plan that meets your needs.
You can make patient care part of your legacy at Ingalls Memorial Hospital through a simple bequest in your will. If you already have a will, it is generally possible to add a bequest without preparing a new will. Using a separate document, known as a codicil, you can include Ingalls Memorial Hospital as a beneficiary.
Or, simply add the following language to your will:
I give, devise and bequeath to Ingalls Development Foundation, Harvey, IL, a 501(c)3, nonprofit organization the sum of $_______ to be used by its Board of directors, in carrying out its corporate objectives and purposes.
The net proceeds of all funds received from wills and bequests will be spent exclusively in support of Ingalls Memorial Hospital.
- Corporate Sponsorship- Opportunities are available to support the work of the Ingalls Development Foundation. We invite corporations to partner with us to underwrite costs for our signature fundraising events, which include the Annual Benefit Show, Golf Event, and Fall Reveal Fashion Show. The events give our business partners the most visible platform possible to demonstrate commitment to helping Ingalls build. Grow, and sustain its reputation for clinical excellence and community impact.

Honor and Memorial bricks are available to honor loved ones. Engraved bricks with a personalized message are available in 4x8" or 8x8" sizes. Bricks will be placed in the Richard K. Desser, MD Courtyard at Ingalls Memorial Hospital.
