Our Breast Cancer Physician Team

Many different healthcare experts participate in the care of each person with breast cancer. Because communication among these specialists is vital, the team meets weekly at the University of Chicago Medicine Multidisciplinary Breast Cancer Conference to plan care for breast cancer patients. At these meetings, participants share information and insights from patient care and research, leading to the best possible treatment for each patient.

Our breast cancer care team includes breast surgeons, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, plastic and reconstructive surgeons, radiologists, pathologists, nurses, genetic counselors and supportive oncology specialists such as social workers, mental health experts and dietitians.
