At the Forefront of Medicine

The University of Chicago Medicine has continued to improve in U.S. News & World Report’s annual survey of the country’s best hospitals. Ten adult specialties were recognized as being among the best in the country in the 2023-24 annual U.S. News and World Report rankings.

The ten specialties include cancer (#16), cardiology and heart surgery (#38), diabetes and endocrinology (#23), ear, nose and throat (#32), gastroenterology and GI surgery (#22), geriatrics (#43), neurology and neurosurgery (#47), OB-gynecology (#28), pulmonology and lung surgery (#30) and urology (#49).

Eighteen high-performing procedures or conditions were also ranked: Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Repair; Aortic Valve SurgeryColon Cancer SurgeryCOPDDiabetesHeart AttackHeart Bypass SurgeryHeart FailureHip FractureKidney FailureKnee ReplacementLeukemia, Lymphoma and Myeloma; Lung Cancer Surgery, Ovarian Cancer SurgeryPneumoniaProstate Cancer Surgery, Stroke; and Uterine Cancer Surgery.
